Pre-Equalised OFDM for Broadband Fixed Wireless Access

چکیده
We investigate the performance of a pre-equalised OFDM system compared to that of a conventional OFDM system in a broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) environment. Issues such as channel estimation requirements, signal power analysis and sub-channel blocking are investigated. Computer simulation results for pre -equalised and conventional systems in a fixed wireless environment (SUI-3 channel) are presented.

Performance Comparison of LDPC Codes using SRK Equalisation and OFDM Techniques for Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Systems
Broadband Fixed Wireless Access (BFWA) systems enable services such as high-speed data communication, high quality voice/video conferencing and high-speed Internet access in areas where a wired link is not possible. However, the BFWA channel is a slow fading channel having deep frequency selective fading caused by clusters of scatterers in the environment that introduce intersymbol interference...
متن کاملVOFDM broadband wireless transmission and its advantages over single carrier modulation
In this paper we describe a coding, modulation, and spatial processing technique for fixed broadband wireless Internet access applications and provide examples of its performance. This technique is built on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and is known as Vector OFDM (VOFDM). We compare VOFDM with conventional Single Carrier Modulation (SCM), and show that it provides substanti...

Abstract— Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an important technique to support high speed transmission of broadband traffic in wireless networks, especially broadband wireless local area networks (LANs). Based on OFDM, a new multiple access scheme, called OFDM-TDMA with subcarrier allocation (OFDMTDMA/SA), is introduced in this paper. It provides more flexibility in resource a...

IEEE 802.16 is a standard for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) air interface. 802.16e supports mobile broadband wireless access, which is an additional feature over its predecessors, which support fixed wireless access. Binary Convolutional Turbo Coding (CTC) is used as mandatory Forward Error Correction method in 802.16e. In this paper the performance of a simple and efficient optional coding s...
متن کاملOFDM: Back to the Wireless Future
A key limitation for wireless technologies has been slow transmission rates that didn't come close to providing the capabilities of wireline services. This left the technologies unable to offer fast downloads or handle mul-timedia and other desirable applications. Now, however, wireless approaches that use orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)—a modulation technique for transmitting...
